Each individual batch of fabric that is used by C Wear in the manufacture of its sun protective garments is tested and rated with an ultraviolet protection factor (“UPF”) only fabric that tests and rates, in accordance with the guidelines set by ARPANSA, is used in the C Wear range. Every garment is labeled with a UPF 50+ rating which ensures your safety in the sun..
This UPF rating for fabrics – which is similar to the SPF rating on sunscreen – was pioneered in Australia a number of years ago and is widely used in Australia . C Wear garments all rate 50+ UPF which means that the garment only allows 1/50th of the UV radiation falling on the surface of the garment to pass through it. C Wear sun protective clothing and sun protective swimwear all block 49/50ths or 98% of the UV radiation
